The installed app checks for a new version a few seconds after it starts. When there is one, it asks you, downloads it in the background (only the app — the AI model isn't downloaded again), and installs it when you click Restart now. Your invoices, settings and license are kept.
The portable version tells you when a new version is out; download the new ZIP and copy your data folder into it.

No. The offline AI runs entirely on your PC. Only if you choose to use online AI (Pro, with your own Google Gemini or OpenAI key) is a document sent to that service — and you have to switch that on yourself.
About 15 seconds per document with a graphics card, and 1–2 minutes on the processor of a typical laptop. Documents are processed in the background one after another, so you can keep reviewing while they run.
Digital PDFs from billing software are read most precisely. For photos: a flat page, good light and the whole page in frame. Avoid tiny pictures such as thumbnails — the text needs enough pixels to be read.
It contains the AI model, so nothing has to be downloaded during setup and everything works offline from the first minute. Updates afterwards are much smaller.
